Scenic Design

This design explores the quiet tensions and tender bonds within a family trying to love each other as they are. At its heart, Immediate Family is about unity—how love, care, and shared history create a sense of home—but also about the invisible gaps that form when inexperience, misunderstanding, or indifference get in the way. The set was shaped to reflect both warmth and disconnect: intimate spaces placed just far enough apart to feel emotionally charged. Every element—from the arrangement of furniture to the textures and thresholds—was selected to echo the push and pull of familial closeness, inviting the audience into a world where love is constant, but not always clear.
